SDF dismiss claims of troop movements in Deir Hafer

The Media Center of the Syrian Democratic Forces issued a statement today denying what it described as misleading claims by the interim government. The statement read:

“Our forces deny the misleading allegations published by the ‘Ministry of Defense’ affiliated with the Damascus government on the existence of military movements or troop concentrations by our forces on the Deir Hafer front, and confirm that there are no unusual movements or preparations. It clarifies that the gatherings that took place were limited to civilians from North and East Syria who came to receive the wounded from Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh.

On the contrary, the area is witnessing intensive flights by Turkish drones of the ‘Bayraktar’ and ‘Akinci’ types, in addition to attacks by suicide drones and artillery shelling that targeted the city of Deir Hafer and its villages, as well as the Thawra Oil Field area, which raises many questions and suspicions. We place these facts before public opinion.

We also present to public opinion documented images of the remnants of Turkish Bayraktar drone munitions that targeted an institution in the Maskanah area.”
