Deir ez-Zor residents condemn massacres in Aleppo’s Sheikh Maqsoud, Ashrafieh

Today, the councils of Al-Kasrah and Hajin in Deir ez-Zor issued a joint statement on behalf of the residents, elders, and intellectuals of the cities, denouncing the attacks by Interim Government mercenaries and the massacres committed against residents of Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh in Aleppo.

The statement was read in Al-Kasrah by Ahmed Al-Jaris, co-president of the Kasrah Services Office, and in Hajin by Nada Al-Joulan, an administrator in the Syrian Revolutionary Youth Movement.

The statement strongly condemned the massacres, displacement, and killings of civilians carried out by the Interim Government mercenaries in Sheikh Maqsoud, Ashrafieh, and Bani Zeid, calling them "crimes against humanity."

It emphasized that international silence allows such massacres to repeat and provides cover for the mercenaries, urging human rights organizations and freedom advocates to act urgently to stop these violations that threaten Syria’s social fabric.

The statement stressed that stability can only be achieved through a decentralized democratic state that guarantees the rights of all communities and held the Turkish occupation directly responsible for these massacres, aiming to destabilize and retaliate against areas that resisted "terrorism."
