SDF dismantles ISIS Cell in Raqqa

The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) have dismantled an ISIS cell in Raqqa as part of a coordinated operation with the International Coalition, resulting in the arrest of four ISIS members. Weapons and communication equipment used to support their activities and attacks were also seized.

The SDF Media Center issued a statement regarding the dismantling of an ISIS cell in Raqqa, carried out as part of a coordinated operation with the International Coalition.

The statement read as follows:

“The Syrian Democratic Forces, through the Military Operations Teams (TOL) and in coordination with the International Coalition forces, carried out a precise security operation in the city of Raqqa, resulting in the arrest of four members of the terrorist organization ‘ISIS.’

The operation was based on reliable intelligence information. Our forces raided the cell’s location without any injuries among civilians or participating forces. During the operation, weapons and communication devices used to support terrorist activities were seized.

During initial interrogations, the detainees confessed to their involvement in gathering intelligence on the locations and positions of our military forces, planning attacks, and maintaining contact with ISIS leadership, to whom they supplied information.

The Syrian Democratic Forces affirm that this operation comes as part of an ongoing campaign to disrupt ISIS’s capabilities and prevent the reconstitution of its cells, in coordination with the International Coalition, in order to protect civilians and maintain security and stability in the region.”
