SDF arrests 12 involved individuals; suspects east of Deir-ez-Zor

Syrian Democratic Forces official website published a statement that "Deir -ez-Zor Military Council troops, with support from the Women's Protection Units (YPJ), launched a large-scale combing operation in the town of Gharanij, in the Deir-ez-Zor eastern countryside," to pursue mercenary cells following recent escalation in attacks.

The statement also added that the cooperating forces successfully scoured the town of Gharanij, noting that the forces arrested 12 wanted individuals and suspected members of "ISIS terrorist cells." The suspects were planning to carry out terrorist operations against security and military units, civilians, and service centers in the region with the aim of expanding instability and destabilizing civil stability.

The statement also quoted the forces to say that they were able to liberate four Deir ez-Zor Military Council members who had been kidnapped when they went to visit a health center on a rare trip outside their routine.

The Syrian Democratic Forces wrapped up their statement by indicating that this campaign was an extension of efforts aimed at enhancing security and stability in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor, noting that it had been well-backed by the tribes and the locals of the region.
