Firefighting teams in NE, Syria await approval to participate in extinguishing coast's fires

Firefighting teams, equipped by the Democratic Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria to deploy to the coastal areas, are awaiting an official response from the transitional government in Syria.

The Democratic Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria announced its full readiness to provide all forms of support and assistance to combat the fires raging in the coastal areas and prevent the escalation of this environmental disaster, within available capabilities.

The Autonomous Administration has fully equipped firefighting teams to deploy to the coast. They are awaiting an official response from the transitional government in Syria to deploy to the affected areas, as part of their humanitarian duty and community solidarity.

On July 7, the autonomous administration dispatched a convoy of 150 personnel trained to deal with large-scale fires, along with 18 fire engines and engineering equipment and machinery, to the coast to help extinguish the blazes. The administration affirmed its support for coastal residents during this ordeal, emphasizing that the priority remains the safety of citizens and the preservation of the environment and forest resources.
