The SDF Media Center announced in a statement published on its official website that a member of a cell linked to foreign intelligence had been captured. The statement read:

“On Sunday, our Military Operations Forces (TOL), part of the Syrian Democratic Forces, carried out a special security operation targeting a cell affiliated with foreign intelligence that was active within the city of Hasaka.”

The center added: “The operation took place after our forces monitored the movements of one of the cell’s members, called ‘Manhal Abbas Al-Ali,’ also known as ‘Abu Muteb,’ and were able to gather sufficient information about him. His hiding location was identified, a tight cordon was imposed on the area, and he was subsequently arrested.”

It clarified: “The cell, one of whose members was captured, had been carrying out acts of theft and looting by force and terrorizing civilians by firing bullets in residential areas in order to disturb public peace and spread fear and panic. It also targeted our forces’ positions—all with the aim of destabilizing security, disrupting civil peace, and weakening public confidence in our military and security forces.”

The statement emphasized: “Our forces will spare no effort in maintaining the safety and security of the people and will strike hard at anyone who attempts to threaten the security and stability of our regions. We send a clear message to any party plotting against our areas: do not test the strength of our forces to defeat you under any circumstances or conditions.”
