Scenes of final preparations for historic step by Kurdish Liberation Movement

The footage shows a group of 15 male and 15 female fighters from the Kurdish Liberation Movement watching a recorded message by Leader Abdullah Ocalan. As soon as the leader begins speaking, the fighters chant slogans such as “Long live Leader Abdullah Ocalan,” “With our soul, with our blood, we are with you, Leader,” “No life without the Leader,” “Jin, Jiyan, Azadî (Woman, Life, Freedom),” and “Long live the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK).”

A Historic Step

After watching Leader Abdullah Ocalan’s video message, Besê Hozat, the co-chair of the Executive Council of the Kurdistan Communities Union (KCK), delivers a speech in front of the guerrilla fighters.

In her speech, Besê Hozat states: “We have gathered here today for an important and historic act. As all comrades know, this process entered a new phase in 2024. Our people and our movement have been subjected to Turkish extermination attacks for more than ten years. Despite these attacks, the Turkish state has not achieved its goals. All of its plans have failed and did not yield the results it sought.

The guerrilla forces have waged a magnificent resistance during this period. We congratulate the comrades who carried out this resistance, and we commemorate our martyred comrades with reverence and gratitude. The enemy’s plans failed thanks to this resistance and it found itself in a deep crisis, especially in Metina and Zap. While its aim was to reach Qandil within three years, this plan has collapsed.

This resistance was not only fortified in the mountains but also in the hearts of our people. Our people in all four parts of Kurdistan have always struggled and provided immense support to our movement. The guerrilla resistance has granted our people great hope and courage. Our movement stands firm today and continues its path even stronger thanks to this collective will.

As Leader Abdullah Ocalan said: ‘Communes should be established everywhere.’ This phrase expresses autonomy and independence. This is a path of liberation, and our movement does not aim to spread this path only in Kurdistan, but also in Turkey, Iran, and Iraq. It seeks to liberate Kurdistan on one hand, and democratize Turkey on the other.”

A New Beginning

The female and male fighters, filled with enthusiasm after watching Leader Abdullah Ocalan’s video, emphasized that this is just the beginning; a new birth.

They said: “We are going to ignite the torch lit by Mazloum, Zîlan, and Rahşan. We are going to implement the directives of Leader Abdullah Ocalan.”
