Rojava cities mark 14th Anniversary of July 19 Revolution

In Qamishlo, the Youth of the Democratic Union Party (PYD) and the Young Women's Union organized an event in front of Youth City to commemorate the anniversary. The event began with the lighting of candles, followed by a minute of silence in honor of the martyrs.

Speaking at the event, PYD Youth member Selîva Haji paid tribute to the martyrs of the revolution and said that "the Rojava Revolution represents a project for achieving freedom for the Kurdish people and the peoples of the region." She added: "We dedicate the Rojava Revolution to Leader Abdullah Ocalan and affirm that the Kurdish people's cause throughout Kurdistan will be resolved through this revolution and through the unity and struggle of the peoples of Kurdistan." She stressed that rights are secured not only through constitutional texts but through the determination of peoples, the sacrifices of the martyrs, and the struggle of youth.

In Kobani, the Revolutionary Youth Movement and the Young Women's Union organized a torchlight march that began on 48th Street and proceeded through the city's streets to Mishtenur Hill, with dozens of young men and women taking part.

Participants carried portraits of leader Abdullah Ocalan and the martyrs while chanting slogans praising the July 19 Revolution and the resistance of the Women's Protection Units (YPJ).

The march concluded with traditional Kurdish dances accompanied by revolutionary songs, as participants renewed their commitment to defending the revolution's achievements and continuing along the path of the martyrs.

Meanwhile, in the Serê Kaniyê Camp in Hasakah, dozens of residents, along with representatives of civil and military institutions, attended a commemorative event at the cultural center. The event opened with a minute of silence, after which the co-chair of the camp council, Majda Amin, welcomed attendees and congratulated the families of the martyrs and leader Abdullah Ocalan on the anniversary of the revolution.

She stated that the Kurdish people had endured decades of exclusion and deprivation under the Baath regime, emphasizing that national unity and reliance on the region's social fabric are the best path toward achieving legitimate rights.

She added that "the concept of the Democratic Nation proposed by leader Ocalan bore fruit with the July 19 Revolution in Kobani in 2012, which later led to the establishment of the Democratic Autonomous Administration through the sacrifices of thousands of martyrs."

The event also featured folklore performances and traditional songs presented by the cultural center before concluding with participants joining in traditional dances in a festive atmosphere honoring the revolution and the sacrifices of its people.
