The final group of Australian women and children left Roj Camp, which houses families linked to ISIS mercenaries, according to a source inside the camp who spoke to ANHA agency.

The source said that 21 people, including 7 women and 14 children, departed the camp on 21 May 2026 and were handed over to the relevant authorities in preparation for their transfer to Australia, confirming that no Australian nationals remain inside the camp.

This development follows the return of a previous group of Australians earlier this month, as part of separate evacuation operations involving families associated with ISIS mercenaries, after years of their stay in the camp located in North and East Syria.
