The Emergency Response Committee in Deir ez-Zor Governorate has decided to suspend movement between the two banks of the Euphrates River via the earthen bridge and the military bridge—from midnight Thursday until 6:00 AM—effective August 27, 2026, and continuing until further notice.

The committee explained that the decision was prompted by the continuous rise in the Euphrates River's water level and the resulting risks to the safety of those crossing.

The decision makes an exception solely for emergency cases requiring urgent medical intervention, warning that violators will face legal accountability.

The committee, chaired by Dr. Fayez Abbas, urged adherence to these instructions to ensure public safety.
