Residents: Stop attacks on Tishrin Dam

A citizen from Tabqa Canton, heading with fellow residents to Tishrin Dam, called for an end to the attacks by the Turkish occupation army and its mercenaries on the dam, highlighting the consequences of the dam’s collapse if the attacks continue.

The Turkish occupation army and its mercenaries continue their attacks on Tishrin Dam, while the Syrian Democratic Forces have confirmed that the risk of the dam collapsing is increasing. In response, hundreds of residents from Tabqa Canton gathered in front of the Democratic Autonomous Administration building of the Canton and proceeded toward Tishrin Dam to organize a protest to stop the attacks.

Before the march, Abd al-Mutallib Al-Batran, a citizen from Tabqa city, stated that all components in Tabqa are mobilizing to stop the attacks on the dam, which is considered a national treasure.

Al-Batran warned of the dam’s collapse, saying: "The Turkish state and its mercenaries must stop the attacks on the Tishrin Dam, if they continue, the dam will collapse, resulting in disasters for villages and residents."

This morning, residents from the Cantons of Jazera, Tabqa, Raqqa, and Euphrates in NE Syria headed toward Tishrin Dam to stop the attacks launched by the Turkish occupation state and its mercenaries since December 8, 2024.
