Residents of N. Kurdistan take to streets in support of Rojava

Residents of several cities in Northern Kurdistan took part in mass events and protest marches organized by the Democratic Regions Party (DBP) and the Peoples’ Equality and Democracy Party (DEM), condemning the attacks targeting the regions of Rojava.

In the city of Wan, residents of the Abkh district organized a protest march that set off from the Bayazid Road and reached the Agriculture Roundabout. During the march, banners were raised reading “Rojava Is Our Red Line” and “Woman, Life, Freedom.”

Participants chanted slogans affirming their support for the resistance of Rojava and rejecting the attacks, before issuing a statement condemning the genocidal assaults targeting the region.

In the city of Urfa (Riha), the Platform of Democratic Organizations organized a march in the Suruç district, with the participation of the co-chair of the Democratic Regions Party (DBP), Cîkdem Ogar.

The march started from Kanlıkuyu Park and proceeded toward the DEM Party’s Suruç district office, where participants raised a banner reading “Rojava Is the Resistance of Conscience and Freedom,” denouncing the attacks by mercenaries of the Syrian Interim Government backed by the Turkish occupation against Rojava.

The city of Elîh (Batman) also witnessed a large mass march organized by democratic organizations, where thousands of citizens gathered in front of the World Mar Shopping Center in the city center and marched toward Women’s Park, chanting slogans praising the resistance of Rojava and affirming solidarity with it.
