Repeated ceasefire violations in Suweida

Ceasefire violations continue in Suweida Governorate, with four areas witnessing renewed field escalation amid rising security tensions.

According to local sources, armed groups from the "tribes," dressed in military uniforms resembling those of the transitional government forces, carried out sporadic attacks using heavy machine guns. The attacks targeted the outskirts of Umm al-Zaytun village, the Majadel road opposite the mills, the Rimat Hazim area, and the Walgha area in western Suweida countryside.

Snipers also targeted civilians returning to their homes.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported that tribal gunmen fired randomly on the outskirts of Umm al-Zaytun, causing panic among local residents and increasing field tensions.

In video recordings published by the attackers themselves, one gunman was seen launching shells and declaring that "the Druze have no covenant," indicating the rising sectarian dimension of the attacks.

Concurrently, the Kanaker area is experiencing clear security tensions, with tribal gunmen stationed in some of its neighborhoods, raising fears of clashes spreading to the area.
