Release of 66 prisoners in Kobani

At the location where the prisoners were handed over to the tribal elders, Ibrahim Muslim, a member of the Social Justice Council in Kobani, said: "Today, we handed over 66 detainees from the regions of Tabqa, Raqqa, Deir ez-Zor, and Serê Kaniyê to Serê Kaniyê Tribal Elders Committee." These detainees had been arrested on various charges. The Justice Council in Kobani and the Committee of Tribal Elders of Raqqa and Serê Kaniyê agreed to hand over these detainees to their committees so they can return to their families.

Ibrahim added that the goal is to maintain brotherly relations between peoples, so they can build a democratic Syria and achieve a free homeland.

For his part, the Sheik of the al-Aoun tribe in the city of Serin, Bahri Sheik Ali, said: "We thank the Kobani administration for handing over these detainees to the Tribal Elders Committee, so that we can also return them to their families." And we will always remain part of the efforts for a solution in the region.
