During a commemoration ceremony for 26 martyrs of the People's Defense Forces (HPG) and the Free Women’s Units – Star (YJA-Star), Murad Qarayilan, a member of the leadership of the People's Defense Center, delivered a video message to the martyrs’ families, offering his condolences and speaking about the heroism of Rojava’s martyrs and its people.

Qarayilan highlighted what he described as the conspiracy against Rojava on January 6, 2026, saying: ““But the martyrs of Rojava did not sacrifice their lives in vain; their sacrifices have yielded results. It is everyone’s responsibility to safeguard what they have achieved.”

He added: “The Rojava Revolution is the fruit of the martyrs’ sacrifices. Racists want to turn peoples against one another. Kurdish and Arab blood has been shed together. Some want to undermine the relationship between them, and we know who is behind this.”

Qarayilan also addressed the ongoing integration process in Rojava, stressing its importance. “Integration is important here. Integration means unity, and both sides must protect their existence. Political struggle is important now,” he said.

Qarayilan concluded his message by saying: “The people of Rojava are not alone. All Kurds stand behind them, and this was evident during the war.”
