Qamishlo hosts launch of conferences on building democratic nation, communal society 

With the goal of raising awareness about the democratic nation and communal society, and how to put them into practice, the Democratic Union Party (PYD) decided some time ago to organize a series of conferences across the regions of North and East Syria.

In accordance with this decision, preparations were made to hold these conferences in various cities throughout the region.

Today, the city of Qamishlo hosted the first of these conferences, attended by administrators and members of the Democratic Union Party, as well as representatives and administrators from the Democratic Society Movement and its affiliated civil society institutions, the Autonomous Administration institutions, representatives from Kongra Star, and youth movements.

The conference began with a moment of silence in honor of the martyrs, followed by a reading of the conference agenda, which includes: “Evaluations by Leader Abdullah Ocalan on the Democratic Nation model, regional democracy and the Autonomous Administration model, the free woman and social revolution, socialism of the democratic society, organizing a free life, and the pioneers of the democratic nation.”

In addition, documents were read on the definition of the democratic nation, communes, socialism, women's freedom, ecology, duties and lifestyle, and the responsibilities of administrators and cadres in building the system.

Following the reading session, the conference was closed to the media.

The conference, which will continue until the evening hours, will discuss the mentioned topics and issue a final statement.

Similar conferences are scheduled to be held in several other cities and districts of the region in the coming days.
