PYD Women’s Council in Derbasiyah discusses latest political developments

The Women’s Council of the Democratic Union Party (PYD) in the city of Derbasiyah held a meeting on Tuesday to discuss the latest political developments, with the participation of women from civil institutions, councils, and women’s movements, at the party’s hall in the city.

The meeting began with a minute of silence, after which Netewi Gemkin, an administrator in the PYD Women’s Council, spoke, stating that the leader Abdullah Ocalan seeks to achieve peace, freedom, and solutions to outstanding issues.

She stressed the need to find a solution to the issue of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) in a way that would enable its transition into a political process.

She stressed that the current stage requires progress in the resolution process, and that the Kurdish issue should be resolved across the four parts of Kurdistan, with Kurdish rights recognized in the constitutions of Iran, Iraq, Syria, and Turkey. She also emphasized the importance of dialogue and political solutions to address ongoing issues.

She noted that failure to reach a settlement to the Kurdish issue in these countries would make it difficult to achieve stability and peaceful co-existence.

The meeting concluded with a reaffirmation of the need to continue discussions and consultations on political developments, as well as the importance of strengthening women’s role in various fields and contributing to efforts aimed at achieving peace and stability.
