Protests in Hasakah, Amuda over fuel prices 

Residents of Hasakah and Amuda held two protests on Thursday against worsening living conditions and rising prices, particularly fuel prices, which were raised by the Transitional Government.

In Hasakah, protesters burned plastic tires at Al-Ghazel Roundabout in the city center to express their discontent over rising prices and mounting living costs.

They called on the Transitional Government to reduce fuel prices to levels that correspond with citizens' incomes.

In Amuda district, residents held a sit-in outside the People's Municipality building in the city, calling for measures to ease the cost of living and curb rising prices.

Participants held signs reading, “People’s bread is a red line,” “No to high fuel prices,” “No to rising prices,” “Paying wheat bills is not a favor,” “Raising fuel prices means destroying the state,” and “Your decisions are killing us.”

Participants called on the relevant authorities to find solutions to rising prices, which are affecting their ability to meet their daily needs.

The sit-in concluded with residents chanting slogans including, “The people want improved living conditions.”
