TISHREEN DAM

Those on duty at the Tishreen Dam continue their protest for the twenty-eighth day in a row. After the dam's surroundings were subjected to intense bombardment yesterday evening, protesters rushed to the dam's body in the early hours of this morning despite the cold weather.

The people of North and East Syria have been protesting above the Tishreen Dam since January 8 until now, demanding the protection of the dam and stopping the attacks launched by the Turkish occupation army. According to those in charge of the dam, these attacks have greatly affected it, making it at risk of collapse.

On Monday, the Energy Body of the Democratic Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria warned of the danger of the Tishreen Dam collapsing as a result of attacks by the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries. And stressed the need for the International Red Cross and the United Nations to intervene to stop these attacks and provide maintenance teams.

On Monday, crowds of people from Tabqa, Raqqa, and Deir ez-Zor Cantons arrived at Tishreen Dam to participate in the protest shift. In the late hours of Monday, the vicinity of the dam was subjected to heavy bombardment, prompting those on duty to protest in the early hours of the day, expressing their indignation at the attacks and demanding that they stop.

The protesters confirmed that they will continue their protest activities until the attacks are stopped and the safety of the Tishreen Dam is ensured, which is a vital facility for all Syrians.
