On Saturday, the Women's Council of the Democratic Union Party in al-Shahba organized a protest denouncing the executions and violence against women in occupied Afrin.

Several days ago, some mercenaries of the Turkish occupation state imposed the death penalty against a number of women in the occupied city of Afrin, as a crime added to the series of crimes committed against the residents of Afrin.

Hundreds of people from Afrin and al-Shahba participated in the protest, which was organized in the park of the Berxdan camp, along with members of councils and bodies and representatives of political parties, with male and female participants carrying banners that read, “No to killing women, women are life. Do not kill life, no to executing women,” along with pictures. Kidnapped women and flags of the Women's Council of the Democratic Union Party.

After standing for a minute of silence in honor of the souls of the martyrs, Yildiz Musa, a member of the Women’s Council of the Democratic Union Party in al-Shahba, delivered a speech in which she said: “We denounce the practices of the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries against women inside Afrin, which aim to break the will of women.”

In her turn, Kongra Star member Kli Mohammad said that the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries are committing crimes against the people of Afrin and do not distinguish between any of the components of the region, and not even the shrines of the martyrs were spared from the barbarism of the occupier.

She stressed, "We will follow the approach of Leader Abdullah Ocalan until victory is achieved."

As for citizen Lamia Abbas from the Arab component, she said: “We reject the killing of women in occupied Afrin, and we demand the liberation of women from inside the prisons of the Turkish occupation.”

She noted, "There is no difference between the Turkish and Iranian governments in dealing with women's issues and issuing death sentences against them."

The protest ended with chanting, "No to the Turkish occupation," "Stop crimes against women," and "Free women from the prisons of the Turkish occupation."
