Prisoners' families in Gerke Lege demand immediate release of their sons

Amid the ongoing suffering of the families of prisoners since mid-January, calls are growing louder for information about their fate and their immediate release. Families of prisoners from Gerke Legê, speaking to ANHA agency, demanded the immediate release of their sons.

In this context, Suad Haji said that her brother, Tarhan Ahmed Haji, was captured on January 18th on the road between Sabah al-Khair and al-Hasakah, and that all contact with him has been lost since then.

She explained that the family is living in a state of constant anxiety due to the lack of information about his fate, and appealed to the relevant authorities to intervene urgently to reveal his fate and the fate of his companions and to work towards their release. She added that their continued detention for nearly three months without any information exacerbates the suffering of their families, especially given the difficult health conditions of his family. She noted that his wife suffers from a serious illness, necessitating his immediate release on humanitarian grounds.

For her part, Khalat Osman, the mother of prisoner Jigar Yousef Hussein, confirmed that her son was also detained by the Syrian Interim Government, calling on the relevant authorities to take immediate action to release all prisoners.

She explained that her son was captured in the countryside of Kobani and is currently being held in a prison in Aleppo. She concluded by expressing her hope that he and all prisoners would be released as soon as possible, ending the ongoing suffering of their families.
