The Darbasiyah Electricity Center restored power to around 150 villages in the Darbasiyah, Zerkan, and Tel Tamr areas after completing repairs to a main power line that had been out of service for nearly three months due to theft and vandalism

The center said emergency maintenance teams began repair work on Thursday and continued until Friday evening after securing the necessary materials, allowing the line to be reactivated and electricity supply to the affected villages to resume.

According to the center, the outage was caused by the theft and sabotage of approximately 3,000 meters of electrical cables by unknown individuals, leaving dozens of villages without electricity throughout the past three months.

In a related development, the center noted that the city of Darbasiyah continues to face a shortage of incoming electricity, with the available supply remaining unstable and insufficient to meet the area's needs.

It added that the current rationing schedule provides approximately six hours of electricity per day to Darbasiyah city center, while villages receive only two hours of electricity daily.
