A large demonstration took place in Qamishlo, in which residents from the cities of Derik and Tirbespiye participated, with wide involvement of women and young women, along with dozens of female fighters and commanders of the YPJ, as well as activists, intellectuals, and members of women’s organizations in the Jazira region.

The march began in front of Soney Roundabout in the city center, where participants raised the flags of the YPJ and images of female fighters who were killed in battles against ISIS mercenaries, in addition to banners emphasizing the vital role of women in protecting their rights and preserving their achievements.

The march is expected to continue toward its destination, where it will turn into a rally featuring several speeches delivered by female political and leadership figures.

The speeches will focus on the importance of official recognition of the YPJ, and emphasize their participation in the process of integration and joining the Syrian Ministry of Defense.

The march comes as part of a broader campaign launched by the Joint Events Platform of women’s movements and organizations in Rojava on April 26, under the slogan “We are all YPJ, YPJ represents us.”
