Amid the rapid developments unfolding in the region and the growing challenges facing the Kurdish people, a number of Kurdish citizens in the city of al-Hasakah stressed the importance of Kurdish unity, describing it as a strategic choice and a national necessity to confront threats, safeguard achievements, and strengthen the Kurdish position both nationally and globally.

At the outset, citizen Mohammed Ashraf Ali said: “We, the residents of al-Hasakah, in light of the fast-moving events in the region, affirm that Kurdish unity has become an urgent necessity, one we have needed for a long time.”

He added: “Kurdish unity means the unity of the four parts of Kurdistan. Through it, we will be able to protect Kurds in all these parts. What we want is to hold a national conference at the level of the homeland to declare this historic unity, to resist in order to achieve Kurdish demands, and to become an active part of the world’s geography.”

Kurds have gained global weight through their unity

For his part, citizen Mohammed Amin said: “At this stage, Kurds have united at the national and global levels. We had hoped this unity would have been achieved long ago, as it has driven our people to adopt a clear stance and enabled them to achieve victories.”

He added: “Our strength has grown and our people’s position has been reinforced. Kurds now have global weight as a result of their unity and unified stance. National unity is the foundation of Kurdish strength, and no one will be able to extinguish their dreams.”

Kurds must draw closer to their unity

In the same context, citizen Ramadan Fattah said: “The region is going through difficult circumstances following the attacks that targeted our people and our areas. However, the resistance of the region’s residents and fighters, supported by Kurds at the national and global levels, has made them a model of Kurdish resistance throughout history.”

He added: “If any part of Kurdistan faces difficulties, the other parts always stand by it. Kurds have never recognized the borders that divided their homeland. It is important to further strengthen this unity and draw closer together so that we can protect the achievements won by our martyrs’ sons.”

“Our people must remain vigilant, and Kurds must hold their national conference”

Concluding the interviews, Mohammed Badran said: “Thanks to the martyrs, we live today with dignity. They are the ones who achieved unity among Kurds at the national and global levels. What we must do today is to hold fast to Kurdish unity and strengthen it among our people.”

He continued: “We stood in support of oppressed peoples in the region, and we liberated the peoples of this land from those who used to hang heads at al-Naeem Roundabout in Raqqa. Today, there are parties seeking to incite strife among the region’s residents and to wage war against us.”

He stressed that “today, in light of the betrayals we have witnessed, we call on our Kurdish people to remain vigilant, as our enemies are lying in wait for us. Everyone must protect their neighborhoods and cities and take to the streets to defend their rights.”

In conclusion, Mohammed Badran called on Kurds “to convene a comprehensive national conference, to unify their discourse, and to reach outcomes that satisfy our people, who have suffered and continue to suffer throughout history. Our people have endured immense hardships, and Kurdish unity is the path to their salvation.”
