Political activist: PDK prevents freedom campaign events for leader Ocalan

There is no information about leader Abdullah Ocalan who has been detained in Imrali Prison for 24 years, for 3 years, and Kurdistan and all over the world are witnessing counter-events and demanding the realization of leader Ocalan's physical freedom.

On 10 October, the French city of Strasbourg, where the Council of Europe, the Committee against Torture and the European Court of Human Rights are located, launched a campaign entitled "Freedom for Abdullah Ocalan, Political Solution to the Kurdish Issue". The campaign was launched in 74 centres around the world simultaneously with statements, in order to achieve the attainment of leader Abdullah Ocalan age 74.

The campaign was widely supported throughout Kurdistan. On 14 October, a number of politicians, academics, intellectuals and civil society activists in the Southern Kurdistan city of Sulaymaniyah expressed their support for the campaign through a press release.

Political activist and Democratic Struggle Front administration Adel Osman, who also joined ANHA agency, talked about the situation of events in the region.

Adel Osman stated that leader Abdullah Ocalan has the main role in resolving the Kurdish issue in democratic and peaceful ways. He said: "The Turkish State arrests leader APO to confront the struggle of the Kurdish people. It seeks to break the will of the Kurdish people with the will of Imrali and to bow them. The Turkish State insists on suppressing this issue and moving forward without leader APO, this is a fascist method, and it is the serious solution in Imrali that will bear fruit, the Kurdish case will not be resolved until leader APO is free. "

The struggle for physical freedom in Southern Kurdistan is stepping up.

"leader APO represents the will of the people in Southern Kurdistan, and this people adopts their cause", in these words, Osman referred to the great support of the people of Southern Kurdistan for the freedom campaign and said: "The resistance of leader APO leads the popular resistance. The people are fighting for their leader relentlessly. The campaign launched is one of the results of this struggle. Many intellectuals, politicians, writers, women, young people, academics and others are joining the cause of APO's physical freedom and stepping up the struggle."

Adel went on to say that KDP’s attitudes and its crackdown the popular practices that support the freedom campaign in Southern Kurdistan, saying’ there’s great jeopardize on the Kurdish issue, in which it prevents the campaign-supporting activities. They prevent the people of Southern Kurdistan from gathering to demand the physical freedom of leader APO, and prevents the marches. This would have impact on the struggle of the Kurdish people in demanding APO freedom. The Kurdish Democratic Party does not support the Kurdish cause and the Kurdish community, insofar as it supports the Turkish occupation, it stands directly against leader APO's struggle, and the policies of the Kurdistan democracy have led Southern Kurdistan to become a great stronghold of betrayal.

Political activist Adel Osman, explained that the struggle for the physical freedom of leader Abdullah Ocalan has never stopped in the face of PDK attacks. He said: "We are holding seminars and lectures, we are planning to expand the campaign activities during the coming period.
