Peshmerga Ministry denies any connection to attack on Popular Mobilization Forces headquarters

The Ministry of Peshmerga in the Kurdistan Regional Government issued a statement regarding the attack on a Popular Mobilization Forces headquarters in Salah al-Din Governorate, Iraq. The statement read: "Some media outlets and pages have circulated false reports claiming that Peshmerga forces were involved in the attack on a PMF headquarters in Salah al-Din Governorate."

The statement added: "In response to these allegations, the Ministry of Peshmerga categorically rejects these baseless claims and emphasizes that the Peshmerga forces are not a party to the tensions or military conflicts taking place in the region and have not participated in any military action against any party."

The Ministry affirmed that "the primary mission of the Peshmerga forces is to protect security and stability, and they are committed to the principle of coordination and joint cooperation with the Iraqi security forces in a manner that serves the security and stability of the country."

It is worth noting that PMF positions were targeted on Saturday evening in the eastern and northern parts of Tuz Khurmatu District, in addition to other locations in the vicinity of Amerli District, according to security sources.
