The People’s Council in Raqqa held its 11th regular session, which featured in-depth political discussions and ratification of a number of organizational documents issued by the Raqqa Executive Council, in addition to nominating new members for the council.

The session opened with a moment of silence honoring the souls of the martyrs, followed by a political presentation delivered by Zelal Jakr, Co-Vice Head of the Syria Future Party. She addressed the most prominent current political and military issues, emphasizing that the current phase requires collective awareness and utmost caution from all Syrian components to protect the people's achievements.

In her intervention, she mentioned Turkey’s ambitions to dominate the Syrian file and implement the Misak-ı Millî, alongside Israeli movements within the Abraham Accords framework, warning of wide geopolitical changes in the region. She criticized the speech of the president of the Syrian Interim Government before the United Nations, describing it as an overt attempt to promote projects of division and normalization.

She affirmed that the core of the conflict in the Middle East lies in the will of the peoples seeking freedom and dignity, pointing out that the Interim Government aims to dismantle the Syrian Democratic Forces and control North and East Syria in an effort to foil the autonomous administration project. She added: “We, at the Syria Future Party, along with all forces believing in a democratic Syria, stand against these attempts.”

Zelal Jakr warned against attempts to breach the March 10 Agreement and launch new attacks, affirming their readiness for legitimate defense and support for the Syrian Democratic Forces when necessary. She also stressed the pioneering role of women in the revolution, considering its success linked to the will and active participation of women.

On the organizational side, the council nominated four new members to the People’s Council in Raqqa: Ahmad Abd Al-Basit Al-Dhaif, Mohammad Ahmad Al-Khalaf, Sheikh Talal Sebat, and Sarkis George Badros representing the Syriac component.

The council also approved the appointment of Sattam Al-Hassan as Co-Vice head of the Executive Council in Raqqa, Suad Mohammad Ibrahim as Co-Chair of the Health Authority, and Ibrahim Al-Hindi as Co-Chair of the Al-Karama City Council.

The session concluded with the new members taking their oath in front of the attendees, marking the commencement of their duties within the institutions they were nominated to.
