People of Manbij call for leader Ocalan's physical freedom

Today, the Martyrs' Families Council in Manbij and its countryside organized a massive public demonstration within the framework of the global campaign demanding the freedom of leader Abdullah Ocalan, which was launched on October 10, under the title "Freedom for Abdullah Ocalan...the political solution to the Kurdish issue."

Dozens of people from the city, members of the institutions of the Democratic Civil Administration of Manbij and its countryside, the Martyrs’ Families Council, the Zenobia Women’s Assembly Council, the Syrian Women’s Office, the Syrian Revolutionary Youth Movement, the Young Women’s Union, and sheikhs and notables of tribes and parties participated in the demonstration that started from Al-Mizan Roundabout towards Al-Masb Roundabout in the city center.

The demonstrators carried pictures of the leader Abdullah Ocalan and banners reading “ Leader freedom represents freedom of people ” and “It is time for the freedom of the leader Ocalan,” amidst chanting slogans “No life without the leader,” “No to the Turkish occupation,” and “With our soul and our blood, we redeem Ocalan.”

The demonstrators observed a minute of silence to pay tribute to the souls of the martyrs. Then the member of the Popular Initiative for the Freedom of Leader Abdullah Ocalan, Hind Daghestani, delivered a speech in which she said: “We condemn the violations of the Turkish occupation against our people and Leader Abdullah Ocalan.”

She stressed, "We will escalate our activities and events in various regions within the framework of the global campaign. We value the efforts made by all the peoples of the world who participated in this initiative, which is considered a great achievement to advance the cause of people's freedom and the freedom of leader Abdullah Ocalan."

She added," the Committee against Torture accountable." (CPT), the United Nations, and human rights organizations are responsible for what happens to the leader in Imrali prison.”

For his part, Mahmoud Al-Eido, the member of the Martyrs' Families Council in Manbij, indicated during his speech that Leader Abdullah Ocalan has been imposing isolation on him for more than 25 years, and this is affects on his health.

He stressed, "We will work within the framework of the campaign to achieve the physical freedom of leader Abdullah Ocalan, because he calls for the freedom of oppressed peoples."

The demonstration ended with chanting, "There is no life without the leader," and "We salute the Imrali resistance."
