Hundreds of members of the Shaitat tribe in the eastern Deir ez-Zor countryside, along with representatives of the Future Syria Party, tribal sheikhs and dignitaries, the Syrian Democratic Forces, and the Internal Security Forces, commemorated the martyrs of the Shaitat massacre at the Euphrates City Martyrs' Shrine in the town of Abu Hamam.

The event began with a moment of silence in honor of the martyrs, followed by a welcoming speech from Nasser al-Tarami, a prominent figure in the al-Shaitat tribe, who expressed his condolences to the families of the martyrs and praised their sacrifices in confronting terrorism and defending their land and dignity.

In his speech, Khabat al-Shaiti, a leader in the Deir ez-Zor Military Council, emphasized their commitment to continuing in the footsteps of the martyrs, saying, "We are advocates of peace, not advocates of war, but we will not hesitate to confront terrorism for the sake of Syria's security and stability."

Nawal al-Suhail, administrator of the Zenobia Women's Gathering in Deir ez-Zor, also expressed her pride in the mothers of the martyrs, emphasizing the role of women in steadfastness and sacrifice, and calling for solidarity and unity in the face of all those who attempt to break the will of the Syrian people.

For his part, Abdul Razzaq al-Rahim, speaking on behalf of the Democratic Autonomous Administration of Deir ez-Zor Canton, said, "Today we remember those who rejected slavery and paid with their lives for their dignity, thanks to their will and determination."

The ceremony included a military parade by Syrian Democratic Forces fighters, in addition to artistic performances by the Euphrates Buds Band, which expressed pride in the sacrifices of their fathers.

The event concluded with an emphasis on unity among all components and institutions, and a renewed pledge to continue the struggle until security and stability are achieved in Syria, in accordance with a democratic constitution that guarantees equality and the unity of the people.

ISIS mercenaries committed numerous massacres during their control of numerous areas in northern and eastern Syria against all Arab tribes, but the al-Shaitat tribe in the Deir ez-Zor countryside suffered the most damage. In August 2014, ISIS mercenaries killed more than 1,200 people, including children and women.
