Occupation attacks Medya defense areas with phosphorus bombs, prohibited weapons

The People's Defense Forces (HPG) confirmed that the Turkish occupation army attacked the Medya defense areas 1,145 times by air and land, including 10 times with phosphorus bombs and prohibited weapons.

The Media Center of the People's Defense Forces (HPG) issued a statement regarding the Turkish occupation army's attacks on the Medya defense areas, stating:

“Turkish occupation’s attacks with prohibited explosives:

On March 16, the war tunnels in the resistance area of Amadiya Hill in the Martyr Dalil area, west of Zap, were bombed once with prohibited explosives.

On March 17, the war tunnels in the resistance area of Amadiya Hill in the Martyr Dalil area, west of Zap, were bombed three times with phosphorus bombs and once with prohibited explosives.

On March 18, the war tunnels in the resistance area of Amadiya Hill in the Martyr Dalil area, west of Zap, were bombed four times with phosphorus bombs and once with prohibited explosives.

Turkish occupation army’s attacks with warplanes:

On March 17 and 18, Turkish warplanes bombed the resistance areas in Bere Zine, Martyr Sharif, and Gosine in the Khakurk area three times, the resistance areas in Rashid Hill, Derash, Haftbakh, Kafya Plain, Miran, and Maskan Hill in the Garê area six times, and the resistance areas in Amadiya Hill and Bahar Hill in the Martyr Dalil area, west of Zap, five times, a total of 15 airstrikes.

On March 17 and 18, Turkish attack helicopters bombed the resistance areas in Judi Hill and Bahar Hill in the Martyr Dalil area, west of Zap, four times.

Turkish occupation’s attacks with heavy weapons and artillery shells:

On March 17, 18, 19, and 20, the resistance areas in Bere Zine, Kendekola, Lolan, Kosin, and Martyr Sharif in the Khakurk area were bombed 97 times, the resistance areas in Haftbakb, Mijê, Karkash, Deresh, Zivk, Zankel Hill, and Kon Hill in the Garê area were bombed 53 times, the resistance areas in Shilaza, Serê Metina, and Bishili in the Metina area were bombed 170 times, and the resistance areas in Bahar Hill in the Martyr Dalil area, west of Zap, were bombed 807 times, a total of 1,127 strikes with heavy weapons and artillery shells.

Our Forces' response to the attacks:

On March 17, at 08:45, our forces intervened against the Turkish occupation army’s movements toward the war tunnels in the resistance area of Judi Hill with semi-automatic and heavy weapons, forcing the occupation forces to withdraw from the area.
