The Democratic Women's Alliance in the Middle East and North Africa (Nida Alliance) issued a statement to the public on the occasion of the third anniversary of the popular uprising in Eastern Kurdistan and Iran, which erupted following the killing of the Kurdish young woman Jina Amini by the so-called "Iranian morality police," under the pretext of not adhering to the hijab.

The Democratic Women's Alliance in the Middle East and North Africa (Nida Alliance) issued a statement to the public on the occasion of the third anniversary of the popular uprising in Eastern Kurdistan and Iran, which erupted following the murder of the Kurdish young woman Jina Amini by the so-called Iranian "morality police," under the pretext of not adhering to the hijab.
The statement read as follows:
On the anniversary of the Iranian Women's Revolution uprising
"Our voices are a revolution..." "And not a shame" so let's resist
A strand of Mahsa Amini's hair has unveiled the repression of a police authority that opposes women. Her murder was not an isolated incident, but a culmination of policies that attempt to silence every free voice and strip women of their lives and dignity.
The voices of free women in Iran have persisted despite repression, imprisonment, and torture, igniting a revolution that has inspired the world under a slogan that has become a symbol for all feminist movements: "Jin Jiyan Azadî – Woman, Life, Freedom."
Women in Iran and around the world bid farewell to Jina Amini with protests in September 2022, in a display of cross-border feminist solidarity, with women who defied oppression, broke the barrier of fear, and rose up against a tyrannical regime.
Those protests were not just for a strand of hair, but for complete freedom, equality, and dignity. Dignity that shook the throne of the regime and the thrones of patriarchal power, while women continued to shake its foundations with their strands of hair and bold voices.
Jina Amini (Mahsa Amini) ignited the revolution in the hearts of women, and every Iranian voice imprisoned to silence it, like Kooriasha Moradi, Bakhshan Azizi, Sharifa Mohammadi, and others who were sentenced to death simply because they chose to be free and a voice for a nation seeking liberation from its prison. To execute a person for speaking of freedom is the clearest evidence that this regime survives only by oppressing women and breaking their will.
We, the women, organizations, and entities in the Nida Alliance (the Regional Democratic Women's Alliance in the Middle East and North Africa), declare our solidarity with the uprising of Iranian women, and we believe that solidarity is the first path to true resistance. What Iranian women are experiencing is an expression of an authoritarian patriarchal structure that we see throughout the region, where power is built on silencing women and stripping them of their freedom.
We call upon the women of the Middle East, Africa, and the world to denounce the plight of Iranian women under authoritarian oppression, and to stand in solidarity with the oppressed women  the Yazidis in Shengal, the Alawites in the Syrian coast, and the Druze in southern Syria. With the Kurdish, Amazigh, Syriac, and Armenian women – who are facing true genocide amidst a shameful global silence. We also call for the release of free speech prisoners in Iranian prisons.
We call on women to unite in word and struggle to build a democracy based on women's freedom. The freedom of women means the freedom of the entire society, and a free society is the path to human advancement in building a world governed by peace, justice, and freedom.
On the third anniversary of the "Women, Life, Freedom" uprising in Iran, we remember the resilient tragedy of Gaza and stand in solidarity with the women whose bodies were ignited by wars but whose voices were not silenced.
- Resistance is female, and solidarity is our weapon.
- Our voices are a strength, not a shame... So let's resist.
Eternity to the martyrs of freedom.

- Woman, life, freedom.

-Jin - Jiyan – Azadî".
