Newroz Association: struggle of martyr Salih Muslim will remain inspiration for future generations

The Newroz Cultural and Social Association in Lebanon issued a statement mourning Salih Muslim, a member of the Presidential Council of the Democratic Union Party (PYD).

The statement read:

“With profound sorrow and grief, the Newroz Cultural and Social Association in Lebanon received the news of the martyrdom of the Kurdish politician and activist Salih Muslim, a member of the Presidential Council of the Democratic Union Party (PYD), who dedicated his life to defending the rights of the Kurdish people and to their struggle for freedom, dignity, and democracy.

The late Salih Muslim was one of the most prominent Kurdish political figures in recent decades and played a significant role in conveying the voice of the Kurdish people to international forums. He also defended the project of coexistence and democracy in North and East Syria. He was known for his steadfast positions in supporting the causes of peoples and their right to freedom and justice, as well as for his political presence that contributed to strengthening the path of dialogue and peaceful struggle for a better future for the peoples of the region.

His passing represents a great loss for the Kurdish political movement and for all those who defend the values of freedom and democracy. However, his struggle and political legacy will remain a source of inspiration for future generations.

On this painful occasion, the Newroz Cultural and Social Association extends its deepest condolences to the family of the deceased, to his comrades in the Kurdish political movement, and to the Kurdish people in general, praying that God grants him His vast mercy and gives his family and loved ones patience and comfort.

Glory to his memory, and eternal honor to all those who have struggled for the freedom and dignity of peoples.”
