Security Forces: arrest of those involved in attack on Alaa al-Amin’s mourning tent

Today, the General Command of the Internal Security Forces (Asayish) issued a statement regarding the attack on the mourning tent of citizen Alaa Al-Amin, which read:

“Based on our absolute commitment to upholding the values of justice and the rule of law, we announced on March 10 the formation of an official investigation committee to follow up on the circumstances surrounding the death of the young man, Alaa Al-Amin, with full transparency and seriousness.

However, while the committee had begun carrying out its duties, a group of individuals set fire to the mourning tent in an attempt to create confusion and obscure the facts.

Accordingly, our specialized forces, in coordination with the formed committee, immediately launched intensive investigations, which resulted in the arrest of three individuals directly involved in this incident.

The detainees are currently undergoing thorough interrogation procedures to uncover all motives and those behind them.

We will also share the results of the investigation with the public as soon as they are completed and ensure that the detainees are referred to the judiciary to receive their due punishment.

We pledge to our people that the Internal Security Forces (Asayish) will remain a strong fortress and protective shield for the enforcement of laws and regulations, and for safeguarding the dignity and stability of society.”
