New request for access to Imrali

Lawyers from the Al-Asr Human Rights Office, Ibrahim Bilmaz, Cengiz Yorkli, Suzan Akiba, and İmran Amkci, filed the request with the Bursa Chief Public Prosecutor's Office and the Imrali Prison Directorate to meet with leader Abdullah Ocalan and other Imrali detainees: Omar Khairi Kunar, Hamili Yildirim, and Veysi Aktaş.

There has been no information about leader Abdullah Ocalan since March 25, 2024.

It is noted that the last meeting held with the leader by his lawyers, Rizan Sarıca and Newroz Oysal, was on August 7, 2019, while his last communication with the outside world occurred on March 25, 2021, during a phone call with his brother, Mohammed Ocalan, which lasted 5 minutes before the call was cut off.

Leader Abdullah Ocalan has been imprisoned for over 24 years on Imrali Island in the Sea of Marmara, following an international conspiracy executed by international and regional powers in 1999 in the Kenyan capital, Nairobi, and was handed over to the Turkish occupation state on February 15 of the same year.
