new ISIS threatening slogans appear in al-Bukamal, Aleppo

In the past few hours, new threatening graffiti, likely written by ISIS mercenary cells, has appeared in both the city of al-Bukamal in the eastern Deir ez-Zor countryside and the al-Masharqa neighborhood of Aleppo, within areas controlled by the Syrian Interim Government. This has sparked a wave of concern among local residents.

Videos and photos have circulated showing handwritten slogans on the walls of houses and public buildings.

In Al-Bukamal, the slogan reads: "The Islamic State is coming, you worshippers of the cross," while in the al-Masharqa neighborhood of Aleppo, the slogan reads: "The Islamic State is here to stay." This is a clear indication of the increasing activity of ISIS mercenary cells in areas controlled by the interim government, and perhaps the existence of a popular support base for them.

This incident is not the first of its kind, as similar graffiti appeared days earlier on the wall of the ancient Hama Citadel, containing direct threats such as: "The Islamic State is coming to slaughter," which at the time sparked widespread alarm and fear among the city's residents.
