New clashes west of Sweida between National Guard and Interim Government Forces

Intermittent clashes broke out between National Guard forces in Sweida and forces of the Interim Government in Syria along the Mazra‘a–Majdal axis in western Sweida countryside, accompanied by an armed drone targeting a National Guard military point without causing material damage or casualties.

ANHA correspondent in Sweida reported that sporadic clashes with heavy machine guns erupted between the National Guard on one side and the Interim Government forces on the other along the Mazra‘a–Majdal axis in western Sweida.

This coincided with an attack by an armed drone belonging to the Interim Government forces, which targeted the vicinity of a National Guard military position on the same axis, with no casualties or material damage reported so far.

Earlier this morning, the western countryside fronts of Sweida had witnessed clashes with medium and heavy weapons between the two sides, in a new breach of the declared truce.

This escalation comes amid continued violations of the U.S.- and internationally-brokered ceasefire agreement by the Interim Government forces and their fighters, through attacks on contact lines and targeting villages and residential neighborhoods in Sweida.
