New adjustment to fuel prices in Syria

Fuel prices in Syria underwent another adjustment, according to the daily price bulletin issued Friday, which included increases for several petroleum products. The new prices are set to take effect at midnight Friday, according to media reports.

According to the bulletin, the price of one liter of 95-octane gasoline was set at 152 Syrian pounds, while 90-octane gasoline was set at 147 pounds and diesel at 125 Syrian pounds.

The bulletin also set the price of a household gas cylinder at 1,470 Syrian pounds, compared with 2,350 pounds for industrial gas.

The price changes were not announced as part of an official decision to raise fuel prices. Instead, the new prices were included in the daily price bulletin and are scheduled to take effect at 12 a.m. Friday.

Any change in gasoline and diesel prices is expected to affect transportation and vehicle operating costs, as well as production and service costs and the prices of various goods, amid continued economic and living pressures on residents.
