Ministry of Health in Syria decides to integrate staff from NE, Syria into its directorates

The Ministry of Health in the interim government issued a decision today to integrate the previously working health and medical staff in North and east regions of Syria into the health directorates in Deir ez-Zor, Raqqa, and Hasakah, based on the agreement signed with the Syrian Democratic Forces on January 30, 2026.

According to the issued decision number (858), the health directors in those three areas have been tasked with concluding the necessary contracts with those included in the merger and determining their work centers as needed, with the contracts becoming effective from the date of the issuance of the implementation decisions.

The ministry confirmed that hospitals and health centers in northeastern Syria will be administratively under the Ministry of Health, while the health directorates in each of those concerned areas will manage these institutions and organize their work according to the prevailing regulations and under the direct supervision of the ministry.

This decision comes as a continuation of previous measures, as the Governor of al-Hasakah, Engineer Nour al-Din Issa, had issued a decision on February 16 of this month to appoint a medical committee of three doctors, headed by the Director of Health in al-Hasakah, Dr. Khaled al-Khaled, and including Dr. Mamo Khalil Mohammad and Dr. Maryam Abdul Rahim Ahmed, to work on implementing the integration of the health sector in al-Hasakah within the structure of the Ministry of Health according to the relevant laws and regulations.

This decision comes as a continuation of the measures taken in the framework of implementing the terms of the January 29 agreement concluded between the Syrian Democratic Forces and the Interim Government, which stipulated steps to integrate institutions and service sectors within the governmental structure.
