Amidst the rapidly evolving developments on the Syrian front and the escalating events in Sweida Governorate, Wael Nader, the official spokesperson for the Military Council in the province, stated in an exclusive statement to our agency that the Council has witnessed widespread support from various factions across Sweida and its villages, noting that the size of this force is relatively large.

He pointed out that the Military Council holds a clear vision regarding the future of arms and governance in the region, and is committed to options that safeguard the rights of citizens and ensure the stability of the country.

Regarding the retention of arms for regional protection, Wael Nader emphasized that, "In light of the recent events in the coastal area and the massacres committed by the Damascus government and the groups affiliated with the authority, the Military Council does not call for the surrender of arms at this time but urges keeping them in the hands of the factions and groups affiliated with the Council to protect the region."

Nader further stated, "When a government is established that respects the rights of citizens, enjoys genuine legitimacy, and works to protect the rights of the people, the arms will be regulated, collected, and handed over to it. There will no longer be any widespread arms in the province. The Military Council will gather all factions under the umbrella of this government, ensuring that arms are entirely in the hands of the state."

Nader criticized the mercenaries of the "National Army" affiliated with the Turkish occupation state, who are currently incorporated within the Damascus regime's forces. He described them as not a national army, but a sectarian, ethnically discriminatory force, whose crimes in the coastal region, including slaughter, murder, and displacement, demonstrate a blatant disregard for citizens' rights and national spirit.

He also noted the extensive and strong relationships of the Military Council in Sweida with all groups present in the Syrian landscape, as well as close ties with the international coalition. He affirmed that, "The Council extends its hand to cooperate with all these groups, including their brothers in the Euphrates region, namely the Syrian Democratic Forces."

Wael Nader, the spokesperson for the Military Council in Sweida, reiterated that the Council is working to strengthen cooperation and unity among all parties to achieve stability and protect the rights of the Syrian people.
