Today marks the eleventh anniversary of the founding of the Syriac Military Council, which was established in 2013. In this regard, the General Command of the Council issued a written statement, which stated:

“Over the course of eleven years, since the founding of the Syriac Military Council, and up to this moment it is still demanding the right of equality between the components and women and men, and that freedom is a basic right and belongs to everyone. We have always been students of peace in a time of peace and heroes of war in a time of war and thanks to the tireless efforts made by our people and all the peoples of the region who sacrificed the most precious and valuable in order to protect the nation. Our forces performed their duties towards the people despite the difficulties and challenges that aim at undermining our democratic project. As we enter today into the eleventh year of the establishment of the Syriac Military Council with more achievements and victories against ISIS and  its cells in all regions. We also worked to confront the Turkish occupation, which has recently escalated its targeting on our regions with the aim of displacing indigenous peoples, and committing genocide as the Ottoman Empire did."

"We in the Syriac Military Council see the necessity of reaching a political solution that guarantees the preservation of the unity of Syrian territory and the gains we have achieved with our national partners in the Syrian Democratic Forces." We have always been a participant in all military campaigns to clear all areas over the past years, and we have also worked to develop and raise the qualitative combat efficiency of our fighters through training and qualification."
