Mercenaries' attacks escalate in Kobane countryside, 14 military vehicles, tank destroyed

Despite the ceasefire, the Turkish-backed mercenaries of the Interim Government launched a large-scale attack on villages in Kobane. The mercenaries targeted the towns of Jalabiya and Khirab Ashk, where fierce clashes erupted and lasted for hours.

The mercenaries used six tanks, numerous armored vehicles, and a large number of mercenaries. In response, the People's Protection Units (YPG) and Women's Protection Units (YPJ) fighters repelled the attacks within self-defense framework, delivering a fierce response to the attack.

According to field sources, YPG and YPJ fighters managed to destroy seven vehicles, two tanks, an unspecified number of armored vehicles, and a Dushka heavy machine gun in Khirab Ashk and the vicinity of the Jalabiya company. They also disabled another tank and several vehicles, forcing the mercenaries to retreat. In addition, dozens of mercenaries were killed.

In the village of Zarik, west of Kobane, three vehicles belonging to the attackers were destroyed.

Clashes are still ongoing in the villages of Qasimiya and the vicinity of the Jalabiya company.

The mercenaries' attacks on the village of Zaroutk resulted in the injury of a 5-year-old child and three other civilians.
