Massive women's march demands leader's physical freedom

With the participation of hundreds of women from the cities of Derbasiyah, Tell Tamer, and Hasaka, along with dislaced people from Serê Kaniyê and Girê Spî residing in Serê Kaniyê and Washokani camps, as well as members of communes, councils, and institutions affiliated with the Autonomous Administration, the Kongra Star organized a massive march demanding the physical freedom of leader Abdullah Ocalan.

The participants carried a banner with "Women, Life, Freedom... The Right to Hope Will Be Realized" written on, alongside yellow flags bearing images of leader Abdullah Ocalan and the flags of the Kongra Star, while chanting slogans such as "No Life Without the Leader," "Long Live the Imrali Resistance," and "Freedom for the Leader of the Nation."

The march began at al-Hamama (The Dove) Roundabout in Tel Hajar neighborhood, heading towards Serhed Roundabout in al-Mufti neighborhood, before transforming into a mass rally that began with holding a minute of silence in remembrance of the martyrs.

During the gathering, Fatima Kelash; the member of the Kongra Star Coordination in Derbasiyah, delivered a speech in which she affirmed the continued demand for the right to hope for leader Abdullah Ocalan, noting that the years of isolation did not end his thought and philosophy, but rather contributed to its wider dissemination.

She added that the Kurdish people continue their struggle for freedom and dignity, emphasizing their rejection of discord among the people and calling for unity and solidarity. She also praised the role of the Women's Protection Units (YPJ) in enhancing the status of women and protecting their rights.

In the same context, Melia Malo; the member of the Kongra Star Coordination in Zirkan, delivered a speech in which she stated that many women have drawn inspiration from the thought of leader Abdullah Ocalan, finding in it the meanings of freedom, dignity, and justice. She said that his cause has transcended the personal dimension to become the cause of a people deprived of their rights.

She added that the isolation imposed on him is still ongoing, considering him an intellectual symbol for peoples struggling for justice and dignity, and that he has contributed to spreading the principles of free thought and reinforcing the values of human dignity.

The march concluded with chants of "No Life Without the Leader."
