Massive rallies in NE Syria on 6th anniversary of Afrin occupation

Holding olive branches in reference to the land of olives, Afrin the people of NE Syria, during the sixth annual activities of the occupation of the city, stressed the continuation of resistance and struggle until the liberation of all occupied territories.

On the sixth anniversary of the occupation of Afrin by Turkey and its mercenaries, NE Syria witnessed rallies denouncing the continued occupation, and emphasizing the liberation the city.

The rallies included reading statements and going out in marches, organized by local councils and civil society organizations. The rallies took place in Derik, Tirbespiyê, Hasaka, Tal Tamr, , Raqqa, Kobani, and Manbij.

Hundreds of citizens participated in the rallies, raising pictures of the martyrs of the resistance of the era in Afrin, olive branches, and banners reading “No to the Turkish occupation,” “Liberating Afrin is a priority," “With our soul and our blood, we sacrifice for Afrin,” “The martyrs are immortal.”

During the rallies, the people recalled the martyrs of the resistance of Age and the heroic resistance of the People’s Protection Units (YPG) and the Women’s Protection Units (YPJ) in confronting the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries.

The rallies stressed that the struggle of the people of the North and East region will not stop until the liberation of occupied Syrian territories, especially Afrin.

The rallies called on the national and democratic forces to unite in the face of the Turkish occupation policies and its expansionist ambitions.

The rallies also highlighted the ongoing crimes of the Turkish occupation state and its mercenaries in occupied Afrin, and the silence of international powers and United Nations organizations regarding them.

Many similar rallies are scheduled to be launched in other regions within NE Syria during the next few hours.
