The Council of Martyrs’ Families in Aleppo issued a public statement calling for the physical freedom of Leader Abdullah Ocalan.

The statement was read by Council member Sevin Amouna at the Martyrs’ Museum in the Shaqif area, north of the Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhood, in the presence of dozens of martyrs’ families.

The statement noted that the recent campaign to write letters of support for Leader Abdullah Ocalan reflects deep loyalty and connection to his ideas, emphasizing that the content of these letters demonstrates great appreciation for his pivotal role in promoting values of peace, rights, democracy, and peaceful coexistence among different communities.

It further explained that, from a national and humanitarian responsibility, the Council of Martyrs’ Families issues an urgent appeal to the international community, the UN Security Council, and the United Nations to act immediately and seriously to pressure the Turkish state for the unconditional release of Leader Abdullah Ocalan, ending the years of unjust imprisonment imposed on him in blatant violation of human rights and international law.

The statement, on behalf of the martyrs’ families of Aleppo, reaffirmed their full commitment to exert every possible effort and sacrifice, at all levels, to achieve the physical freedom of Leader Abdullah Ocalan, describing him as a symbol of hope for building a future of peace, stability, and justice for all peoples of the region. It stressed that his freedom is a fundamental human and rights-based demand for achieving lasting peace and genuine democracy.

The statement concluded with chants in support of Leader Abdullah Ocalan, saluting his steadfastness and continued resistance in Imrali Prison.
