Today, residents of Manbij Canton, joined by members of the Democratic Autonomous Administration institutions, political parties, local councils, tribal elders and notables, the Syrian Revolutionary Youth Movement, the Shahba and Afrin Refugee Organizing Office, and women’s organizations, took to the streets in a demonstration.

The protest was organized to denounce the Turkish occupation attacks on the North and East Syria region and to condemn collaboration with Turkey in targeting the region.

Yesterday, a car bomb exploded in Qamishlo, resulting in the martyrdom of Khalida Mohammed Sharif (45) and her son Hajar Adnan Suleiman (24). The Democratic Autonomous Administration stated that Turkish agents were behind the attack.

Protesters gathered at the Al-Mizan roundabout in Manbij, carrying photos of the bombing martyrs and banners with slogans such as "This is my homeland, who gave you ownership deeds?" and "Turkish fascism is a threat to global security; we must stand against this terrorism" and "Random bombardment is a war crime," and "One people, one pain," chanting "Down with Turkish occupation and its collaborators" and "No to Turkish fascism."

Upon reaching the Al-Safina roundabout in Manbij, the demonstrators observed a minute of silence in honor of the martyrs. Hussein Bekari, co-chair of the Syrian Revolutionary Youth Movement in Manbij, delivered a speech emphasizing that the Turkish occupation and its agents will not deter the people of North and East Syria from continuing the path charted by the martyrs, until all oppressed peoples are freed from capitalist and dictatorial regimes.

He renewed the commitment to pursue freedom until victory and physical freedom for leader Abdullah Ocalan.

Rabeh Beko, co-chair of the Democratic Society Organizations in Manbij, also spoke, condemning the Turkish occupation attacks and calling on all residents of Manbij to unite against these attacks to achieve victory.

She stressed that "Turkish aggression will not deter us from our efforts to build a democratic society and achieve peace and social justice."

The demonstration ended with chants of "Down with Turkish occupation and its collaborators," "No to Turkish fascism," and "Martyrs are immortal.”
