“Leader’s physical freedom is key step toward true peace”

As part of the activities demanding the physical freedom of Leader Abdullah Ocalan, the Popular Initiative for the Freedom of Leader Abdullah Ocalan organized marches today in Qamishlo and Girkê Legê.

Qamishlo

In Qamishlo, the march started from Sony Roundabout with the participation of city residents, the Martyrs’ Families Council, civil councils, and the Kongra Star. They carried pictures of Leader Abdullah Ocalan and chanted slogans such as “No life without the leader” and “Long live Leader Apo.”

Upon reaching the Seven Lakes Roundabout, they observed a minute of silence. Then Shiraz Hamo, a member of the Popular Initiative in Qamishlo, delivered a speech, saying: “Conspiring states have tried for 27 years to break the will of free peoples and the women’s revolution, but the commitment to the homeland’s cause has foiled all these attempts.”

She explained: “Leader Abdullah Ocalan has turned the Middle East into a model of humanity, calling for the establishment of a democratic society where freedom and equality are realized for all peoples.” She stressed that the Leader’s physical freedom is a key step toward true peace.

She also affirmed: “Leader Ocalan’s vision stands as a barrier against all forms of conflict and unrest in the region of North and East Syria and all of Syria.” She added: “We, women, consider implementing the Leader’s directives for women and the people our historic responsibility.”

The march ended with chants praising the resistance of Leader Abdullah Ocalan.

Girkê Legê

Hundreds of residents from the cities of Girkê Legê, Romelan, Çil Agha, and Tal Koçer participated in a mass march starting from the Martyr Khbat Derik Square. The participants raised pictures of Leader Abdullah Ocalan and banners reading “It’s time for the Leader’s freedom.”

The march moved through the city’s main streets, with chants of “No life without the leader.” Upon reaching the central market square, the march transformed into a public gathering where participants observed a minute of silence.

Then Mohamed Abdul Rahim, co-chair of the Democratic Union Party (PYD) in the Jazira Canton, gave a speech noting: “Despite the difficult circumstances he is going through, Leader Abdullah Ocalan has never stopped seeking a solution. It has become clear today that there is no real way out of the region’s crises except through his project. It is no longer possible to bypass or ignore this proposal.”

He added: “The freedom of Leader Abdullah Ocalan is not merely a symbolic demand but an urgent necessity to open the future horizons for peoples yearning for true peace, as peace can only be built by those who possess credibility and vision.”

Afterwards, Ferial Qassoum, a member of the Kongra Star in Çil Agha, gave a speech, saying: “Today, we stand here, from all communities, demanding the physical freedom of the Leader who has planted love and brotherhood among peoples through his ideas and philosophy.”

She added: “The struggle must continue, especially for us women, until achieving the Leader’s physical freedom, as it is the key to solving the Middle East’s crises.”

The march ended with chants of “No life without the Leader.”
