Leader Ocalan's message to clan's sheikhs, dignitaries of Syria

The leader Abdullah Ocalan sent a letter to the sheikhs and tribal leaders of the regions of Jazira, Deir ez-Zor, Raqqa, and Tabqa, stating, "I stand in support of the brotherhood and alliance between the Kurdish and Arab peoples, given its historical foundation."

The text of the letter includes:

"To the clans' sheikhs and tribal elders of the regions of Jazira, Deir ez-Zor, Raqqa, and Tabqa.

Dear Sirs,

First, I salute you with happiness, love, and respect.

Your unity and support for the Kurds, based on the democratic nation system, is very meaningful.

Via this agreement, you are building a new historic trustworthy foundation for the relations and alliance between the Arab and Kurdish peoples.

Over the history, relations between the Kurdish and Arab peoples, friendship and brotherhood between the Arab and Kurdish peoples have always been at the forefront. This friendship became the foundation for the ease with which the majority of Kurds converted to the true religion of Islam during its emergence and spread under the leadership of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). The primary reason for this is the strong relations between the Kurdish and Arab peoples. These fraternal relations between the two peoples have continued after the advent of Islam for centuries, as it has been developed and flourished."

In other words, this agreement you are leading today is historical on the one hand, and social on the other. It also has a political basis. Therefore, this attitude and unity in Syria is of great importance, and I attach great significance to it. I stand in support of the brotherhood and alliance between the Kurdish and Arab peoples because of its historical foundation.

On this basis, we developed and issued directives based on the brotherhood of peoples and the democratic nation. All must be equal, free, live together, and govern themselves together. Equality, security, and justice must be built on this foundation. Likewise, Arabs and Kurds must live together in peace, and this is linked to your support for the Syrian Democratic Forces. In this regard, your support for the Syrian Democratic Forces is of utmost importance and has great meaning.

Dear Gentlemen,

You can play an important and historic role in establishing a democratic, secure, unified, and just Syria. It is important for Arabs, Kurds, Syriacs, Assyrians, and all those living on this holy land to take action for this historic fraternity. With this hope and confidence, I embrace you and hold you tightly.
