Leader Ocalan’s message headlines Hercule International Book Fair

The Martyr Hercule International Book Fair continues its activities for the third consecutive day, amid wide attendance at the Azadi Park hall in Qamishlo, under the slogan “Books are the Key to Civilization,” with participation from 51 publishing houses, libraries, and magazines.

The doors opened to visitors at 10:00 a.m., and activities continued into the evening with a lecture titled “Reading the Leader’s Message to the Jineology Academy,” presented by academy administrator Zheriban Hussein.

During the lecture, leader Ocalan’s message, sent from Imrali prison on May 30, 2025, to the Jineology Academy, was read in three languages—Kurdish, Arabic, and English—before the audience.

Leader Ocalan expressed his confidence that women will lead the way in achieving peace, emphasizing that the science of women, Jineology (Jineolojî), has made significant progress and accomplished valuable work. He stressed that this work now needs to bear deeper fruit in the new phase, and it is essential to define the existence of women correctly and evaluate their identity and presence based on equality.

Participants were divided into three groups (Kurdish, Arabic, and English) to ask questions if any terms were unclear after reading the message.

Zheriban noted that the leader, since childhood, sought to be the best friend and companion to women, evident from his relationship with his mother, which was foundational in his thinking about women’s freedom.

She pointed out that the leader considered the women’s freedom project incomplete after the Imrali 1999 phase, and that it is now complete, with only implementation remaining.

Zheriban added that leader Ocalan wanted to be a proper child or son for women, which inspired his concept of hope centered on women’s freedom.

Leader Ocalan also referred to a saying by Buddha: “Until the knife stuck in the back of society is removed, nothing can be done.” He explained: “The dagger is a symbol of women’s enslavement, and it must be removed.”
