Leader Ocalan: Rojava is my red line

Perwin Buldan, a member of the Peoples' Democracy and Equality Party delegation to Imrali, said during her participation in a program on Jin TV that the leader Abdullah Ocalan assessed the developments in North and East Syria and Syria as a whole.

She added that the leader Apo discussed these developments with the government delegation, noting that on several occasions, he had discussed issues related to the Turkish policy with DEM Party delegation.

She pointed out that he had said more than once, "Rojava is my red line. For me, this is a different and special issue." In other words, he had made this decision regarding Syria many times. However, I would like to point out that he did not make a comprehensive assessment of Syria and Rojava with us, but rather discussed the matter primarily with the government delegation.

She continued, "He also confirmed that if the conditions are favorable, he will attach importance to building relationships with the relevant parties in North and East Syria. He repeatedly emphasized the importance of communicating with them, explaining that he would like to discuss and assess the issue in addition to determining the best way to make a decision and move forward." This has not happened yet, however; if the opportunity is created later, it is likely that the delegation and the leader will hold meetings and contact the relevant parties in North and East Syria.

Perwin Buldan highlighted the statements made by the Turkish authorities on North and East Syria, saying, "Turkey should support the Kurds in the regard of Rojava and Syria issues."

She made clear, "In the current reality, marginalizing the Kurds there, launching an operation against them, or undermining the gains achieved by the Kurdish people will not benefit Turkey, nor will the Kurds in Turkey accept it. Otherwise, to find a solution to the issue, we need to think wisely and make right decisions."

She explained, "The developments ongoing in Syria, including agreements and talks with the Damascus government, are being closely monitored by Turkey, but the Kurds are extremely sensitive in this regard, as Rojava is the most sensitive issue for the Kurdish people. Therefore, no matter how much we take steps in Turkey concerning internal democracy, any operation launched in Rojava will lead to a major collapse among the Kurdish people. so, this is unacceptable, and no one accepts it, especially Mr. Ocalan."

Perwin Buldan added, "I believe that if Turkey stands with the Kurdish people, respects their gains, recognizes their right to live in their regions and speak in their own language with their identity and culture, and seeks to resolve the issue on a democratic basis through legal and constitutional means, it will also succeed. Therefore, this issue can undoubtedly be resolved through mutual consensus, and such an approach can be implemented."
