Leader Abdullah Ocalan's lawyers submit new request to meet with him

The lawyers of the Imrali detainees, leader Abdullah Ocalan, Omar Khairy Kunar, Hamili Yildirim and Weysi Aktaş, submitted a new request to the Turkish authorities to meet with them.

Al-Asr Law Office lawyers presented: Ibrahim Bilmez, Cengiz Yurekli, Imran Emekji and Suzanne Akiba submitted a new request to the Bursa Republican Prosecutor’s Office and the Imrali Prison Directorate to meet with Leader Abdullah Ocalan and the three other detainees; Omer Khairy Kunar, Hameli Yildirim and Weysi Aktaş.

It is noteworthy that the last meeting with the leader by his lawyers, Rezan Sarijs and Nowruz Uysal, was on August 7, 2019.

On October 23, 2024, after four years of interruption, the leader met directly with his nephew, Omar Ocalan, and during the meeting the leader said in a message: “Isolation is still continuing, and if conditions exist, I have the theoretical and practical strength to move this process from the ground of conflict and violence to the legal and political ground.”
